Korda carp fishing experts Danny Fairbrass, Darrell Peck, Neil Spooner are joined by the Korda European Sale Team as they head to Italian mega fishing lake Parco Del Brenta. The first episode of this two-parter at the famous Italian venue, which is renowned for producing huge commons, can only be described as a Personal Best fest as the anglers including Spooner catch some of their biggest ever carp.
The Korda team travelled from all over Europe, and this meant that a wide variety of different angling tactics and techniques were being used on the lake, as they all fish different venues European wide. The trip was filmed late on in the year (November 2018), but was timed perfectly to coincide with some unseasonably warm weather, and this definitely means that the carp are on the munch… the action is fast and furious from the off!
Several enormous 60lb plus carp are caught as well as a multitudes of 50lb and 40lb fish too. Double takes, triple takes and night bites all make this episode super exciting to watch. Even the anglers themselves cannot believe how crazy the action gets.
This carp in this fishing venue are used to eating pellets, which the owner feeds them on, so our fishing experts tactics and rigs need to be refined to reflect this. A lot of the fishing in this film revolves around using small hookbaits surrounded by pellets, in some form, but even then there are quite a few different ways of fishing like this, including solid PVA bags, PVA mesh sticks, and even the Method. This episode goes into detail about exactly how to fish them so you can use it in your own carp fishing.
Thinking Tackle is packed full of useful information, putting it into practice and catching carp… some of which are absolute monsters. This episode covers various different carp fishing rigs that they are used, including Danny Fairbrass’ favoured combi-rig set-up. He details exactly how to tie this in a way that easily ensures that the supple part is the correct length every time, a great guide for those new to this rig.
